Statistics Cheat Sheet For Uncertainty Analysis
Do you calculate uncertainty? Are you tired of looking up statistical functions in books and online? Then, my Statistics Cheat Sheet will be your new best friend.
This cheat sheet has 23 statistical functions and formulas packed into just 2 pages to help you calculate uncertainty and evaluate your uncertainty calculations.
It’s like having a statistics textbook compressed into 2 pages!
Statistical Functions
Here are the 23 statistical functions that I packed into this cheat sheet. It has everything that you need to calculate uncertainty and more!

- Variance
- Standard Deviation
- Determining Sample Size
- Degrees of Freedom
- Sum of Squares
- Root Sum of Squares
- Pooled Variance
- Effective Degrees of Freedom

Interpolation and Linear Regression
Want to develop equations for your CMC Uncertainties in your scope of accreditation? Great! This statistics cheat sheet has the functions and formulas for both interpolation and linear regression. Start modeling your uncertainty calculations with a mathematical model.
Probability Distributions
Need to reduce uncertainty to standard deviation equivalents? This cheat sheet has a table of 9 probability distributions with their divisor so you can easily reduce uncertainty. Plus, this cheat sheet has 5 new probability distributions and divisors to expand your uncertainty analysis capabilities.
In this guide, I will cover;
- Normal Distribution
- Rectangular Distribution
- Triangular Distribution
- U-shaped Distribution
- Log-Normal Distribution
- Rayleigh Distribution
- Cosine Distribution (NEW)
- Half-Cosine Distribution (NEW)
- Quadratic Distribution (NEW)
- Trapezoidal Distribution (NEW)
- Utility Distribution (NEW)
Confidence Intervals
What the confidence intervals that you want to use quickly. I have included a table with expansion factors for the most commonly used confidence intervals to estimate uncertainty, error, and tolerances.
Introduction to Statistics for Uncertainty Analysis Guide
If you like this statistics cheat sheet, but need a little bit of help using the functions and formulas, I recommend that you check out my guide; Introduction to Statistics for Uncertainty Analysis. It is a 30 page guide that will show you, with step-by-step instructions, how to use these 23 statistical functions.

It is a cheat sheet and it does what it is supposed to do: I have all the basics I need in one handy sheet of paper. Since English is not my mother tong (I am French), it is also valuable to translate correctly between French and English and make sure I understand or express accurately what I read or write.
Then, it has the disadvantage of its advantage: it is too short! But this is another story…

A wonderful tool that will prove itself useful for years to come. At this price only a fool will pass it up.
